Marco Beltrami’s score for Scream was first released in 1998 and was forced to share a 30-minute CD with the score for Scream 2.  Needless to say, much of the music from Scream was missing.  Years later, a Deluxe Edition of the soundtrack featuring over 60 minutes of music was finally released to coincide with the release for Scream 4.  This release was limited to 2,000 copies.

The first CD featuring music from the film was released on December 17th, 1996 (3 days before Scream released in the US!)  It featured 11 songs heard throughout the film and a piece of the motion picture soundtrack (Trouble in Woodsboro - see below).  The film featured “School’s Out” by Alice Cooper but was changed to a version by The Last Hard Men for the CD release.
